名人教英文：离晒大谱！
离晒大谱！such utter nonsense！「如此极度的无厘头！」
离谱的原意，是偏离了谱子，直译可以是out of tune、off-key，有因为「走音」而「不咬弦」的意思。看以下例句﹕
your proposal is out of tune with public opinion.
你的建议偏离民意。
his idea is off-key = his idea is out of step with what is considered normal or appropriate.
他的点子离了谱。
广东话的离谱，若是语带温柔的「好离谱啫」，通常等于「好过分喎」，英文可说︰
that is just too much.
这太过分了。
that is rather out of line.
这「过了界」。
如果讲的离谱，主旨是表达「这样也行？」可说︰
that's most extraordinary! 极度不寻常！
that's damned curious! 实在太古怪！
that's quite incredible! 真系难以置信！
that's so incredulous! 离谱！直情唔信！
上面的incredible与incredulous，「字形」有点相似，表面意思好似都差不多，但用起来就有实质分别﹕
that's incredible! that's hard to believe! 这事难以置信！往往亦有that's amazing! 亦即啧积称奇之意。像that incredible fire-eater，那个「神奇」的吞火人。
而incredulous，「直情唔信」，就直接包含离谱之意了﹕
she was incredulous at his behaviour. 这句话，字面是「她不相信他的行为」，实在的意思是「他的行为离谱得令她o嘴」。
要把「离晒大谱」用做卷标，受卷标的对象，不管是人、物、事，纯粹发泄一下，通常都可用英文「垃圾」一字以蔽之﹕
这个人离晒大谱 - this person is so full of rubbish.
这件事离晒大谱 - what a trashy business.
这款设计离晒大谱 - the design is simply crappy.
