名人教英文：一词多义的deliver
「行政长官月中发表首份《施政报告》」，英文是"the chief executive delivered his first policy address in mid-january"。 deliver在这句话解作「发表」、「宣读」，常见的用法有deliver a speech。
deliver的另一解释是「送递」，例如：the newspaper boy delivers newspapers to my home every morning at 6 o'clock.
把某人从一个困境中解救出来，可以说成deliver someone from something：moses delivered the israelites from their oppression by the pharaoh即「摩西把以色列人从法老王的压迫中拯救过来」。
