名人教英文：we're out是什么意思？
假设你到水果店买香蕉，店主对你说 "we're out"，在这个情况，他的意思绝非「我们out了」，而是 "we are out of bananas/ we are out of stock of bananas"。out of stock 即缺货，俚语简称 out。
out of 可解作缺乏，例如 "our car has run out of oil" 即汽车没油了。同样道理，out of luck 即「没有运」，如：we ran out of luck and missed the last train. out of work 即「没有工作」：hundreds of workers will be out of work as caterpillar is set to close its factory in toronto.
