7. 老是弹着那根弦
东汉大书法家蔡邕有次弹琴，无意中弹断了一根妶，他女儿蔡琰一听就知道断的是第二根；蔡邕跟着又弄断一根弦试试女儿，蔡琰一听就知道那是第四根——琴上每根弦音调都不同，蔡琰有音乐修养，自然听得出来了。
假如乐师弹来弹去都是那根弦，听起来会怎样呢？英文成语harp forever on the same string就是答案。
按：harp是「竖琴」，作动词用的时候，解作「弹竖琴」。harp forever on the same string直译是「老是弹着那一根弦」，意译则是「唠唠叨叨老是说着同样的话教人烦厌」，例如：
he is harping forever on the same string and i am fed up with it. （他翻来覆去都是说着那几句话，我真没法忍受了。）
留意harp forever on the same string现在往往略作harp on，例如：
he keeps harping on the importance of discipline. （他唠唠叨叨老是说着纪律多么重要。）
