Step 1 Revision

1.Have a dictation(Seven words they learned last class)

2.Guessing games.

Guess what animal it is according to what Teacher says.

a. It’s small and soft. It likes eating rice.(mouse)

b. It is a long animal. It doesn’t have ears and it can ‘hear’ with its tongues.

c. It is kind. It had long ears and red eyes. It likes eating carrots.(rabbit)

d. It is lazy. It likes sleeping. It can catch mice.(cat)

e. It is friendly. It likes walking. It likes eating bones.(dog)

f. It is small and lovely. It can’t live in your hand. It lives in water.(goldfish)

g. It is very big. It has long teeth. It can walk on tiptoe.(elephant)

h. It’s noisy. It can say hello and sing. It’s a bird.(parrot)

3.Say one or two sentences about your favourite pet.

Step 2 Presentation

1.Let the students talk about a dog. Say some words about a dog, them teach some new words about a dog.

Verb: chase, catch, hunt, hide, bark, bite, fight

Adjective: clever, fierce, kind, helpful

Noun: friend, trick

Other: wide, build, camp, stick, end

2.Ask the students to say some Chinese poems. Then let them say the characteristic of Chinese poems.

3.Listen to the tape of ‘My Dog’.

Step 3 Read and learn

1.Ask the students to read ‘My Dog’themselves.

2.Listen and repeat.

3.Try to find the rhyme scheme.

Step 4 Practice

1.Do some reading.

2.Finish the task of Part B1(1-5)on Page 90 and Part C1 on Page 92.

3.Try to say something about a dog.
