5-14：i hope与祈使句的关系
i hope接that从句时，从句中可使用助动词may，形成祈使句。此时将i hope that删除，将may置于原that从句的主语之前，动词仍用原形动词。原句点改为惊叹号。
例：i hope(that) he may live long.
= may he live long!
（愿他长命百岁！）
i hope you may pass the exam.
= may you pass the exam!
（祝你通过考试！）
注意
以god为主语时，可省略may。
例：i hope god may bless you.
= may god bless you!
= god bless you!
（上帝保佑你！）
注意
表“国家万岁”时，亦可用倒装结构。
例：i hope the people's republic of china may live long.
= may the people's republic of china live long!
= long live the people's republic of china!
（中华人民共和国万岁！）
