182.形容词作状语
1.形容词也和分词一样，有时可单独或引起短语作状语，表示：
l ）原因：
as much interested, he agreed to give it a try .
他很感兴趣，同意试一试。
afraid of being cut off, th ey lost no time in turning back ?
由于害怕被切断，他们赶紧退了回去。
2 ）动作发生的情况或方式：
over joyed, she dashed out of the house .
她非常高兴，急步跑出屋来。
flushed and breathless, she bounded through the gate .
她满脸通红气喘吁吁，从大门跑了进来。
she emerged from the conflict victorious .
她在这次冲突中成了胜利者。
3 ）时间等：
enthusiastic, they are quite cooperative.
热心的时候他们是很合作的。
有时可和when 连用：
often she would weep when alone.
她一个人待着时常常腰泣?
if you lie upon roses when young, you'll lie upon thorns when old .
如果年轻时躺在玫瑰花上，年老时你会躺在刺上。（谚）
2.形容词作状语通常说明主语的情况，但有时也可能说明宾语的情况：
he pulled his belt tight.
他勒紧裤带。
she pushed the door open.
她把门推开。
he writes his characters large.
他字写得很大。
we drink it hot.
我们喝热的。
这类句子也可改为被动语态：
the door was pushed open.
门被推开了。
they are eaten raw.
它们是生吃的。
