1. like:
l）像(一样):
We are like brothers and sisters．
我们情同手足。
I feel exactlyl like you．
我和你的感受完全一样。
It doesn't look like mine．
这不像是我的。
2)（like和this，that连用)这样，那样：
He is always like that．
他总是那样。
You mustn't think like that．
你不要那样想。
I've never seen him like this before．
我从未见他像这样过。
3)(like和what连用)是什么样子，怎样：
What's the place like?
这地方是什么样子？
What's their life like?
他们的生活怎样？
What does it look (taste) like?
它是什么样的（味道）?
4）用于某些成语：
It looks like snow (rain)．
看起来要下雪（雨）了。
That's just like her．She's always so frank．
她就是这个样子，总是那样直率。
I don't feel like eating anything．
我不想吃什么。
He said he'd work like anything．
他说他要拼命工作。
2. near:
1)靠近，离……很近：
They sat at a table near the window．
他们在靠近窗子的一张桌子旁坐下。
The Capital Gymnasium is near the zoo．
首都体育馆离动物园不远。
Don't go near the edge．
不要到靠边的地方去。
2）快到(某时):
It was near midnight when they arrived．
他们到达时已快到午夜了。
Are you near the end of the book?
这本书你快看完了吗？
这个介词可用于比较级和最高级：
Mercury is much smaller than Earth and much nearer the sun.
水星比地球小得多，也离太阳近得多。
I was sitting nearest the aisle．
