It depends on…视……而定
当别人提出的问题我们无法给予明确的答案，亦即答案得视不同的情况而定时，“It depends on…”是普遍常用的句型。on的后面可以放名词、词短语、V-ing、从句等。

John: I am in a rush. I think I need to take a taxi to get there.

John: How much will that cost me?

在这段对话当中，John询问Jane在这里搭计程车的价格怎么样，Jane表示价格得依照距离和交通状况而定，比方说一定的距离在塞车时就可能得多花一点钱，因此在这早可以用“it depends on…”的句型。
