巴黎圣母院是采用独特的法式风格,样式真实新颖. 它是第一个完全采用哥特式建筑的大教堂,拱璧文字浮雕, 尖型拱门,罗纹拱顶,玫瑰花形及其他的大圆窗使用著色玻璃.这种哥特式的风格从座落在法国赛纳河中心迅速传遍大半个欧洲,成为中世纪鼎盛时期教堂独特的建筑风格.
注: 巴黎圣母院是一座典型的哥特式教堂，之所以闻名于世，主要因为它是欧洲建筑史上一个划时代的标志。圣母院的正外立面风格独特，结构严谨，看上去十分雄伟庄严。它被壁柱纵向分隔为三大块；三条装饰带又将它横向划分为三部分，其中，最下面有三个内凹的门洞。门洞上方是所谓的“国王廊”，上有分别代表以色列和犹太国历代国王的二十八尊雕塑。
