aquarian children are very promising in many ways. they are not brilliant students, and book-learning along routine lines burdens them. but they have a great interest in progressive accomplishment, the progress of the world, or even of the small community in which they live, which is remarkable in a child who is more apt to be self-centered, and thinks only of his or her own small pleasures. the aquarian youngster is very different, in that a child of either sex, but especially the serve in a big way, and think very little about them. this urge often produces a genius in one way or another.
the duty of the parents in this case in this case is to make formal education attractive. if a person is to be a great success in the world to day and offer the service that most aquarians wish to give, it is necessary to start out with at least the same advantages enjoyed by everyone else. since a college education or its equivalent is quite general, the aquarian child should be induced to less the advantage of it, and since these are the most reasonable of all children, and the most sincere in their efforts for advancement, they will accept all of the school training that the parent thinks is necessary. in most cases everything that the parent expends on the aquarian son or daughter is well repaid. aquarian children have a strong sense of obligation, and exert themselves to be worthy of trust.
these children should be guided to keep promises and avoid delays. they are so enthusiastic that they often promise what they cannot fulfill. later in life, (if this habit develops), they get a reputation for exaggeration and are not believed even when they are telling the truth. as children they procrastinate, and put off unpleasant duties from day to day. this is perhaps a general fault with most types, but in the aquarian, extreme good nature gives them a tendency to be too lax. when they grow up, their work in the world in often important, and even small weaknesses in a great character become a target for enemies.
the parents of the aquarian child often have in their hands a potential genital genius, or at least a public benefactor, and it is advisable to study the inclinations of the child with the greatest care.
