cancer children are sensitive plants. more often than not they have none of the graces found in some of the other signs. they are not clever, talented in a flashy way, studious, or even very robust. they are fanciful, moody, clinging little things, hungering for love and understanding. they get strange passionate attachments for love and absorb almost anything that attracts them.
in order to bring the cancer child up to a more active, open, normal outlook, the parent must be very loving and attentive, but must manage in some way to make the child more independent and outspoken. these children must actually be made to like to do things for themselves. since the ability to absorb and imitate is so strong, and accomplishment.
they are not studious or intellectual in any way, but manual dexterity and business ability are part of the natural cancer make-up, and ca by cultivation be brought out in these children. as has been stressed, almost any quality can be developed in these children that are within their scope.
the health of this type of child is exceedingly delicate. the appetite is poor, and the very foods that are worst for them are likely to attract them the most. naturally, the light, simple, nourishing diet is ideal. it is hard to build these children up, partly because their resistance is low, but mainly because their resistance is low, but mainly because their physical delicacy makes them susceptible to so many illnesses. a happy life in the country, gentle young companions, and a routine, well divided among school, rest and play is what the cancer child needs for the best development.
