Finn: Hello. I'm Finn.
Wang Fei: Hello. I'm Wang Fei.
Finn: And we're here in the studio in London… which is also the city we live and work in. But neither of us are actually from London. Well, you're certainly not, are you Wang Fei?
Wang Fei: No, I'm from Shandong Province in China! And you, Finn?
Finn: Well I'm from Scotland, though I've lived in London for eight years.
Wang Fei: 我们今天的问题来自在伦敦读书的Chen 同学，Chen同学的问题是关于伦敦人的。我们一起听一听。

Finn: So, what do people from other parts of the UK think of Londoners? Do they have any prejudices 偏见 against them?
Wang Fei: 那下面我们就问一问几个其它地方的英国人，看看他们是怎么看待伦敦人的？

There’s also a certain aspect of arrogance which Londoners have.
Finn: Doesn't sound good! Any prejudices?
Wang Fei: 第一个被采访者对伦敦人没有好印象。刚才他用了什么词？
Finn: Rude.
Wang Fei: 对，rude 粗鲁的。
Finn: And someone said they also think of themselves as high and mighty.
Wang Fei: High and mighty, 也就是高高在上、趾高气扬的。
Finn: And according to another person, Londoners have an aspect of arrogance.
Wang Fei: Arrogance 傲慢、自负。它的形容词形式就是 arrogant 傲慢的、自负的。
Finn: Yes, for example: 'He is very arrogant', or 'Londoners are arrogant'.
Wang Fei: Do you really think so?
Finn: No, I don't – just giving an example sentence!
Wang Fei: 从这些采访中，我们学到了很多的形容词。我们再听一遍。

Yeah, people generally think we’re richer, like from other countries. Yeah, they think we’re richer but it’s not always the case!
Wang Fei: More forward-looking 更有远见的, more fashionable 更时尚的。
Finn: And richer… 更有钱。

Wang Fei: Do you agree with this Finn? Are Londoners richer?
Finn: Well, on average people in London do earn more than people in other parts of the country, but the cost of living is also much higher here.
Wang Fei: The cost of living. 也就是生活费用，伦敦的生活费用也是相当高。
Finn: Actually Wang Fei, how long have you lived in London?
Wang Fei: Two years.
Finn: What was your idea of Londoners before you moved here?
Wang Fei: 我来伦敦前，觉得伦敦人可能会穿很正式的衣服。
Finn: Wearing formal suits 穿正式的衣服。
Wang Fei: 还要戴圆顶的礼帽。
Finn: Wearing bowler hats 圆顶礼帽.
Wang Fei: 并且我还觉得，伦敦人都很严肃。
Finn: You thought Londoners were very serious 严肃？ Interesting. And now, you've been here for two years, what do you think now?
Wang Fei: Well actually, I think people are much more friendly than I expected – they smile a lot, and are quite fashionable.
Finn: Fashionable? Have you seen anyone with a bowler hat?
Wang Fei: No, but... Let me think… I think I just forgot.
Finn: Ok well let's keep looking. You know, you and I are both examples of people who have come to London from other places to work. Actually, amongst my friends here, almost everyone is from somewhere else, not from London!
Wang Fei: 确实是这样的，伦敦是世界上一座国际化大都会城市。所以有时人们很难定义，谁是伦敦人？
Finn: Some would say that anyone who lives and works here is a Londoner. And did you know that over one third of the population of London was born abroad?
Wang Fei: 超过三分之一生活在伦敦的人都是出生在国外的。London is what you make of it,伦敦就是你自己的伦敦。并且伦敦人是非常多元化的。
Finn: Anyway, I think time to put on my bowler hat and leave the studio now Wang Fei!
