Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei and Costa Rican Foreign Minister Bruno Stagnoon held the first political consultation meeting between the two countries on Thursday after China opened its embassy in San Jose earlier in the day.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Wang Xiaoyuan, China's first ambassador to the Central American nation in six decades, expressed great optimism for Sino-Costa Rican relations.
