奥巴马每周电视演讲2013年8月17日:每周电视讲话:推行《平价医疗法》(中英mp3+lrc)
[by:www.pronounceword.com] [00:00.72]Hi, everybody. Over the past few weeks, [00:03.58]I’ve been visiting with Americans across the country to talk about what we need to do to secure a better bargain [00:07.89]for the middle class. [00:09.42]We need to rebuild an economy that rewards hard work [00:11.95]and responsibility; [00:13.75]an economy built firmly on the cornerstones of middle-class life. [00:18.44]Good jobs. [00:19.39]A good education. [00:20.67]A home of your own. [00:21.90]A secure retirement. [00:23.33]And quality, affordable health care that’s there when you need it. [00:26.96]Right now, we’re well on our way to fully implementing the Affordable Care Act. [00:32.89]And in the next few months, [00:34.41]we’ll reach a couple milestones [00:36.10]with real meaning for millions of Americans. [00:39.20]If you’re one of the 85% of Americans who already have insurance, [00:43.73]you’ve already got new benefits and protections under this law [00:46.68]that you didn’t before. [00:48.64]Free checkups, mammograms, and contraceptive care. [00:52.10]Discounted prescription medicine on Medicare. [00:54.94]The fact you can stay on your parents’ plan until you turn 26. [00:58.74]And much, much more. [01:00.86]And it’s okay if you’re not a fan of the Affordable Care Act C [01:03.38]you can take advantage of these things anyway. [01:07.10]If you don’t have insurance, [01:08.86]beginning on October 1st, [01:10.85]private plans will actually compete for your business. [01:14.55]You can comparison shop in an online marketplace, [01:17.78]just like you would for cell phone plans or plane tickets. [01:21.15]You may be eligible for new tax credits to help you afford the plan that’s right for you. [01:25.85]And if you’re in the up to half of all Americans [01:29.36]who’ve been sick or have a preexisting condition, [01:31.52]this law means that beginning January 1st, [01:33.93]insurance companies have to cover you C [01:36.57]and they can’t use your medical history to charge you more [01:39.71]than anybody else. [01:41.70]You can find out more about the law, [01:43.41]and how to sign up to buy your own coverage [01:46.41]right now [01:47.59]at HealthCare.gov. [01:49.15]Tell your friends and neighbors without insurance about it, too. [01:52.31]And tell your kids that there’s a new, easy way [01:55.15]to buy affordable plans specifically tailored to young people. [01:59.59]Many Members of Congress, [02:00.97]in both parties, are working hard to inform their constituents about these benefits, [02:05.18]protections, and affordable plans. [02:07.43]But there’s also a group of Republicans in Congress working hard to confuse people, [02:12.60]and making empty promises that [02:13.87]they’ll either shut down the health care law, [02:16.55]or, if they don’t get their way, [02:18.22]they’ll shut down the government. [02:20.45]Think about that. [02:22.40]They’re actually having a debate between hurting Americans [02:25.10]who will no longer be denied affordable care just because they’ve been sick [02:29.47]C and harming the economy and millions of Americans in the process. [02:33.35]And many Republicans are more concerned with how badly this debate will hurt them politically [02:38.90]than they are with how badly it’ll hurt the country. [02:42.19]A lot of Republicans seem to believe that if they can gum up the works and make this law fail, [02:46.54]they’ll somehow be sticking it to me. [02:48.54]But they’d just be sticking it to you. [02:51.18]Some even say that if you call their office with questions about the law, [02:54.46]they’ll refuse to help. Call me old-fashioned C [02:57.86]but that’s lousy constituent service. [02:59.88]And it’s not what you deserve. [03:01.43]Your health insurance isn’t something to play politics with. [03:04.60]Our economy isn’t something to play politics with. [03:07.22]This isn’t a game. [03:08.71]This is about the economic security of millions of families. [03:12.67]See, in the states where governors and legislatures and insurers are working together to implement this law properly C [03:18.83]states like California, [03:20.27]New York, Colorado and Maryland C [03:22.87]competition and consumer choice are actually making insurance affordable. [03:27.80]So I’m going to keep doing everything in my power to make sure this law works as it’s supposed to. [03:32.82]Because in the United States of America, [03:35.70]health insurance isn’t a privilege C [03:37.19]it is your right. And we’re going to keep it that way. [03:40.65]Thanks. And have a great weekend.
