[00:02.17]American leadership is the one constant in an uncertain world. 
[00:06.33]That was true this week, 
[00:07.55]as we mobilized the world to confront some of our most urgent challenges.
[00:12.39]America is leading the world in the fight to degrade and ultimately destroy the terrorist group known as ISIL. 
[00:18.36]On Monday, our brave men and women in uniform began air strikes against ISIL targets in Syria. 
[00:24.30]And they weren’t alone. 
[00:25.76]I made it clear that America would act as part of a broad coalition, 
[00:29.47]and we were joined in this action by friends and partners, including Arab nations. 
[00:34.76]At the United Nations in New York, 
[00:36.51]I worked to build more support for this coalition; 
[00:39.17]to cut off terrorist financing; 
[00:41.00]and to stop the flow of foreign fighters into and out of that region. 
[00:45.62]And in my address to the UN, 
[00:47.43]I challenged the world 
[00:48.90]-- especially Muslim communities 
[00:50.97]C to reject the ideology of violent extremism, 
[00:54.60]and to do more to tap the extraordinary potential of their young people.
[00:59.14]America is leading the effort to rally the world against Russian aggression in Ukraine. 
[01:03.43]Along with our allies, we will support the people of Ukraine as they develop their democracy and economy. 
[01:09.30]And this week, I called upon even more nations to join us on the right side of history.
[01:14.85]America is leading the fight to contain and combat the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. 
[01:19.60]We’re deploying our doctors and scientists 
[01:21.81]-- supported by our military 
[01:23.28]-- to help corral the outbreak and pursue new treatments. 
[01:26.99]From the United Kingdom and Germany to France and Senegal, other nations are stepping up their efforts, too, 
[01:33.90]sending money, supplies, and personnel.
[01:35.94]And we will continue to rally other countries to join us in making concrete commitments to fight this disease, 
[01:41.30]and enhance global health security for the long-term.
[01:45.40]America is engaging more partners and allies than ever to confront the growing threat of climate change 
[01:49.39]before it’s too late. 
[01:51.10]We’re doing our part, and helping developing nations do theirs. 
[01:54.77]At home, we’ve invested in clean energy, 
[01:57.51]cut carbon pollution, and created new jobs in the process. 
[02:00.59]Abroad, our climate assistance now reaches more than 120 nations. 
[02:05.34]And on Tuesday, I called on every nation 
[02:07.69]C developed and developing alike 
[02:09.63]-- to join us in this effort for the sake of future generations.
[02:14.15]The people of the world look to us to lead. 
[02:17.35]And we welcome that responsibility. 
[02:19.70]We are heirs to a proud legacy of freedom.  
[02:22.62]And as we showed the world this week, 
[02:24.46]we are prepared to do what is necessary to secure that legacy for generations to come.
