depend的用法
◆他不是个可靠的人。
误：He is not a man to be depended.
正：He is not a man to be depended on.
析：depend(依靠)是不及物动词，若语义上需要接宾语，则须借助介词 on, upon。又如：Whether the game will be playeddepends on the weather.(球赛是否进行要看天气而定)。
◆你放心，他会来的。
误：You may depend that he will come.
误：You may depend on that he will come.
正：You may depend on it that he will come.
析：depend(依靠)是不及物动词，其后不可直接跟 that 从句，也不可在 depend on 后跟 that 从句(因为在通常情况下介词后不可直接跟 that 从句)，而是在 depend on 后先加上形式宾 语 it 再加 that 从句。顺便说一句，depend on 后不能直接跟 that 从句，但可跟 whether, where, how, who, what 等引导的从句，且有时可省略介词 on。

正：We all depend on you to come tomorrow.

析：depend不能跟不定式的复合结构(记住它是不及物动词)，但是 depend on 后可以跟不定式的复合结构，并且也可以动名词的复合结构。注：此句也可用从句改写：We all depend on itthat he will come tomorrow.
