dependent用法注意
1. 表示“依靠的”、“依赖的”，注意以下习惯搭配：
He is dependent on his parents (for support). 他依靠父母(养活)。
Success is dependent on hard work. /Success is dependent on how hard you work. 成功取决于努力与否。
I’ll never be dependent on anyone again. 我再也不会依靠任何人。
Good health is largely dependent on the proper nourishment. 身体健康在很大程度上要依靠适当的营养。
2. 比较其派生名词为 dependence(依靠，依赖)的有关搭配：
We put no dependence on him. 我们不信赖他。
He lives in dependence on his friends. 他依靠朋友生活(from www.yywords.com)。
3. 值得注意的是：以上两词的反义词 independent(独立的，自立的)和 independence(独立，自主，自立；不可数)却通常不连用介词on, upon, 而分别连用 of 和 from。如：
He is now independent of his parents. 他现在不依赖父母(from www.yywords.com)。
This money gives me independence from my family. 这笔钱可以让我不依赖家庭了。
