逐渐升高

ratchet是一种特殊齿轮，上面的齿斜向一边，所以只能 单方向转动，一旦转动一格就会卡住而不能退回。动词词组 ratchet up原意是指这种齿轮一格一格转紧；例如：ratchet up a notch就是「转上一格」。ratchet up也引申为 逐步升局。
