在帆船航行时代，海面上的船只如果遭到风暴或因其他 原因而损坏，或者是淡水、粮食等资源短缺，就得靠岸进行 补给或修复，这个「补给修复」的动作就是shore up。引申 为各种形式的「补强、增援」。
