加强
在电学中，「增强电压」称为step up。例如，插在汽 车点烟器上的行动电源，能够将汽车电瓶九伏特的电能加压成一百二十伏特，供一般电器使用，这种加压的变压器就称为step-up transformer。相反的，降低电压的减压器则称为 step-down transformer。在一般用法中，step up 意思是「加强」（压力、努力等），step down则是「减弱」。
