Safety concerns regarding China’s high-speed trains sky-rocketed after the fatal crash in Wenzhou back in July. 54 bullet trains were recalled in August due to operational problems. After thorough safety inspections and modifications, some trains are now ready to resume operations. The first recalled train to resume departed from the Chinese capital Beijing on Wednesday morning.
早在7月份温州重大致命事故之后，关于中国高速列车安全的担忧猛增。8月份，54列动车组因为操作问题被召回。经过安全检查和修改之后，一些列车现在已经恢复运行。星期三上午，第一列被召回的列车从中国首都北京出发，恢复运行。
上文中的recall就是指召回的额意思，bullet trains是指动车。
15种“减肥药”被召回

Fifteen weight-loss products containing the drug sibutramine have been recalled across the country over concern that the diet pills could lead to an increased risk of heart disease。
因担心会增加心血管病的风险，15种含有西布曲明的减肥产品已经在全国范围内被召回。
在上面的报道中，diet pill指的是“减肥药”，也可以用slimming drug或weight-loss drug来表达。在对北京的药店进行spot inspection(抽查)后发现，这几种被列入禁令的减肥药均已下架。
为了让自己看起来更美，有些人不但会吃减肥药，还会做liposuction surgery(吸脂手术)。健康一点的减肥方式是去health club(健身俱乐部)，但是过度运动也会对身体造成不良影响。减肥如果方法不当或过度，会给身体带来很多危害。采取vegetarian diet(素食)减肥方法的人会导致hair loss(脱发)，减肥过快可能得上gallstone(胆结石)，减肥过多可能会导致failure of memory(记忆减退)，生育期减肥则可能导致sterility(不孕症)。
