He'll be back.
We reported this morning that Maria Shriver's father, Sargent Shriver, has passed away at the age of 95. While Maria's husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has stood by her side through her dad's death, he's also announced that there's another big change their family will soon face: Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning to the big screen as soon as his California governing term ends. Here's what we know about the scripts he's considering.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, 63, served as governor of California from 2003 to January 3, 2011. Arnold says now that he's stepping down from the governor seat, he plans to step back in front of the cameras. Some sources suggest he "can't wait" to have some fun after his last eight years of stress. Here's what Schwarzenegger revealed about his plans to return to Hollywood: "Currently I'm reading three scripts," he said. "In the future I have to adapt my roles to my age. Clint Eastwood has also done it in the same way."
So after having served a U.S. state, will Arnold's genre or style be different from how we remember? Very, he says: "Extreme fighting or shooting is not possible anymore. I want to be more encouraged as an actor and I believe that I can manage this challenge."
And Arnold admits that a lot has changed in the film business since he left it nearly a decade ago: "I am like a sponge," he said, "which is absorbing all the knowledge and always be willing to learn all new things."
Although it seems sort of strange that Schwarzenegger wouldn't keep his career plans quiet for another month or so, until news of his father-in-law's passing blows over a bit.
