Looking back at 2010, and the last 27 years of my life, I am truly grateful to the universe/god for so many things! Once again, it is the time of the year where I reflect and count my countless blessings. This note is a constant reminder for myself throughout the year, and I hope it can help you too. Nothing is ever too small to be thankful for.
1. Thank you for being alive. Every day is a special given day and I am glad I woke up this morning.
2. Thank you for my life vision- To bring love and happiness to the people around me.
3. Thank you for my life mission - To appreciate and enjoy the quality of life by having an abundance of love, happiness and wisdom.
4. Thank you for our world full of love - all kind of love, love for self, parental love, friendship love, boy-girl love, animal love, plant love, hobby love. Love truly is all around.
5. Thank you for smiling - this is truly the world's universal language. The curve that shows love and brings joy.
6. Thank you for the wonderful music - it amplifies feelings and expresses our thoughts. All songs and lyrics, or any kind of art, were created out of love.
7. Thank you for 60 minutes an hour, 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year. There is always enough time to do everything I need.
8. Thank you to my mummy and daddy who gave me life and been with me for the last 27 years.
9. Thank you for my given name. I can't imagine being called in any name other than Doris. Even my Chinese name is not too bad either.
10. Thank you for the multiple choices and options in life. I may not always make the theoretically right choices, but I always follow my heart's desire. And that's the one that leave no regrets.
11. Thank you for the simplest things in life - these things are priceless but extremely valuable. From simple love and sincere friendships, to clean air and water daily.
12. Thank you for nature's enlightenment - gut instincts, Law of Attraction, Law of Love, Healing Touch, Meditation, Philosophy, Psychology, etc.
13. Thank you for my borne and nurtured personality. It is not perfect and still have heaps of room for improvement. There is no one else I rather be other than myself.
14. Thank you for the beautiful nature - from the trees to the shrubs to the grass! Human civilization would never make it till today without you.
15. Thank you for the unpredictable weather. Even though you might be angry with us human for damaging you, you still provide us the sun and rain for livelihood everyday.
16. Thank you for having food and drinks everyday. We are truly blessed to have so many varieties of food and drinks to choose from at our convenience.
17. Thank you for the human invention of air-conditioner and heater. It's a little hard to imagine life without you two!
18. Thank you for the sad times and near-death experiences throughout my life. Without these, I might not value what I have as much today.
19. Thank you for being born in Singapore and grew up here. It is the not the best country around, but it is a country I enjoy living in.
20. Thank you for my selective filter for memory, sight and hearing. All I cam remember are the good things, see what I want and hear what I like.
21. Thank you for my imagination and creativity. The world is a lot more colourful and exciting with these gifts.
22. Thank you for my weird preferences and quirky habits. And a greater appreciation goes to the wonderful people who accept and love me the way I am. I love you too!
23. Thank you to the 90% of the nice and good people I am fortunate to meet. And an even bigger thank you to the fanta-bulous 10% of the people I met. The world is truly filled with all things wonderful.
24. Gazillion thanks to my wonderful girlfriends from the past and present, I can't remember when I felt lonely or bored, coz you are always there for me. Your happiness is my happiness, and that's my biggest wish for you!
25. Thank you to Stephanie for being such a fanta-bulous girlfriend since we were 11! The epitome of a perfect daughter and good friend. I will not be who I am today without you!
26. Thank you to my crazy girlfriends from poly - Eva, Jooyee, Liming, Michelle and Yingru. Life is so much crazier and dramatic with you girls! Can't imagine my last 10 years without you!
27. Thank you to Jenifer, Nicole and Jean. You girls are like the big sisters that I never had. Let's work towards our financial freedom dream together! Our high-tea sessions will come true!
28. Thank you Jane and Evelyn. It is really nice to meet and catch up with you over dinner now and then. Staying in CCK is so much better because you are here!
29. Thank you Annie and Michelle! The photos we took in 2006 felt so surreal. It was like so long ago, and I wonder when we can ever meet again. =')
30. Thank you Yi Jun and Nicole. It is wonderful chatting with you two on MSN, just like the good old days when we stayed in adjacent rooms. Chatting about anything and everything drama!
31. Thank you Roy and Michslle, you two are such an inspiration! I learnt heaps of stuff from both of you!
32. A big thank you to Kelvin. You left a positive impact in my life and I am glad we met.
33. Thank you Jeremy, I learnt heaps of stuff and seen many things in a new perspective through you!
34. A big thank you to my current colleagues and ex-colleagues from SG and NZ, whether we know it or not, you made a positive different in my work life. The workplace would never be the same without you.
35. Thank you to my friends in/from NZ! You guys are like family away from home, the dinner parties, the gatherings and the hanging out. NZ felt like home because you were there!
36. A big thank you goes to my friends, acquaintances and the strangers I met throughout my life. You created a positive difference, whether we know what it is or not.
37. Thank you to all the amazing mentors and successful people in the world. You all are so inspiring and I learnt heaps from you. Even though you don't know me, I am still thankful for your existence.
38. Thank you for having a home - from Dover to Choa Chu Kang, and good old Kairanga Court. Nothing beats having a comfortable shelter to go home to.
39. Thank you for my own bedroom since 18. This place is my paradise, my haven and my sanctuary. There is no place on earth I like more than my own bedroom.
40. Thank you Laurence that I developed basic survival instincts and strong personality. You had tortured me fine for the last 22 years.
41. Even though my family drama can be made into a soap opera, it could have been worst. Thank you for my home and extended family.
42. Thank you for the opportunity to meet an Astrologer when I was 22. Esther gave me an insight to my life that turned out to be one of the most positive things that ever happened.
43. Thank you for my blessed study life - from kindergarten to university. All of them are exactly the kind of student life I dreamt of and ever wanted.
44. Despite my dislike, but thank you for all the insects in the world. Without insects, the world will die. Without humans, the world will thrive.
45. Thank you for our ability to read and write - for me to write this and for you to read it.
46. Thank you Walt Disney for creating the fairytale Disney Princesses - intelligent Belle, non-conforming Mulan, curious Ariel, kind Cinderella and all other princesses!
47. Thank you Frances Burnett for your wonderful Secret Garden and a Little Princess. The world is a garden and all girls are princesses!
48. Thank you to all the amazing and inspiring authors who showed me many insights through books and stories - Jane Austen, Joanne Rowling, Robert and Kim Kiyosaki, Napolean Hill, William Shakespeare, John Gray, Violet Lim, Anthony Robbins, Michael Roach, Jin Yong, etc.
49. Thank you for the peaceful 7-12 hours of sleep and good dreams every night.
50. Thank you for money. You guys are awesome and bought me so much happiness with material goods. I will continue to respect and love all the money I have and make.
51. Thank you for the good investment and decisions, and the lessons learnt from previous mistakes. Thank you for achieving financial freedom at 35! I love my dream life.
52. Thank you for all the electronics and technological gadgets. My life is so much more convenient since you all were invented! MacBook, iPhone and Sony T5, love you heaps!
53. Thank you for the games - Bejeweled Blitz, Mindjolt games, Popcap games, my Brain games, etc. You all help me to distress and retain my active brain in childhood stage.
54. Thank you for the 3 years in NZ. I cherished and enjoyed every moment there and NZ is a second home now. Eternally grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
55. Thank you for the creation of Nutella. The world would never be the same without you. Whoever the creator from Fererro, thanks heaps for this elixir!
56. Thank you for the last 27 years of exceptional life experiences. I am looking forward to the wonderful journey of the next 73 years.
57. Thank you for the 6 senses. Not the most perfect, but served me extremely well throughout my life. All 6 are precious and priceless.
58. Thank you that I feel 21 years young, 165cm tall and 50kg light everyday! Whatever the IC and scale say!
59. Thank you for the best machine in the world - the human body. And the best computer in the world - the human mind. Most importantly, thank you for having both of them functioning in perfect synchrony!
