The Xiongnu (Hsiung-nu; Mongolian: Хүн or Хүннү, Khün or Khünnü; ; Guangyun (Middle Chinese): ) were ancient nomadic-based people that formed a state or confederation located north of China. Most of the information on the Xiongnu comes from Chinese sources.
